Why Dubbing is a Marketing Necessity Today

The world we live in today is large and small at the same time. Thanks to the internet, people across the globe can communicate and interact with each other, while accessing volumes of information. Also, global transportation has made it easier for goods to be exchanged across borders. This, in turn, has allowed businesses of all kinds to market their goods all over the world and even garner an international customer base.

Back in the day, it was easier to market a product because the customer base was predominantly regional. That’s not the case now. Of course, English may be the official language of trade, but, that doesn’t mean you should connect with your international customers on a more personal level. One way of connecting in such a way is to use regional languages to market your products or services.

So, how do you achieve that? Well, the answer to that question lies in dubbing. Dubbing your content in a local language can enhance your product’s appeal. It can help you communicate certain aspects of your product, which, may not have been possible otherwise.

If you need some more convincing on the benefits of dubbing, here are a few pointers.

English isn’t everybody’s cup of tea

English is spoken in many parts of the world. However, you’d still be surprised to know that, even in this day and age, there are several viable markets out there that do not. In fact, they outnumber the number of English speaking populations. So, if you are interested in capturing a new market that isn’t exactly known for adhering to English, then dubbing is your best option.

Translation doesn’t always work

The thing about languages is that not all of them are the same. For instance, some English words could have completely different meanings in a different language. Or, colloquialisms and Idioms that are common to English speaking countries may just fly over the heads of customers from India. This leads to a lot of your content getting lost in translation. Even worse, your English content could turn out to be offensive to other cultures. That’s actually happened quite a lot.

The solution? Dubbing in the regional language.

These are just a couple of reasons why you need to consider dubbing for the foreign market. Another important point to remember is that, if you do choose to dub, look for a voiceover artist who is fluent in the language you’re trying to dub in. It matters a lot.
